The cars that cant crash

is it possible?

Slow-speed incidents make up three quarters of all motor accidents.

Motor research company Thatcham has evaluated the devices. It believes that if they were fitted as standard on all vehicles, there would be a drastic drop in road casualties. They have invented three diferent ways to help make this dream become a reality

The new Volvo XC60, on sale from November, will use laser radar mounted on top of the windscreen.

It is programmed to respond if the vehicle in front is either at a standstill or is moving in the same direction as the car itself.

The brakes are pre-charged and should a collision be imminent it applies them and cuts the throttle.

Ronan O'Gara insists Ireland have restored some pride and credibility with their performance in Paris.

After a traumatic World Cup and a poor performance in last week's victory over Italy, the Irish were living the world cup experience all over again after France built up a 26-6 lead early in the second half.

A drubbing looked on the cards but the Irish battled back to trail 26-21 and almost snatched a win in the closing stages.

"We've been trying to get credibility back in the Irish team and we hadn't managed to do that," O'Gara said.

"There are some quality players in the team. The potential is there, we just need to start believing in ourselves and kick on."

Thirteen and Adrian mole

At the beginning of the film, Tracy is a good student, she's a normal girl and does'nt have many friends. It's her first year in the school and she isn't very popular. When she sees this girl called Evie who is the most popular girl in school she decides to try and be more like her. At first, she starts stealing clothes and money, but after a while things got out of hand and she started stealing things on a much larger scale and selling drugs. Tracy's grades start to get worse and her teachers started to get worried . Tracy starts to take drugs and became incontrolable, she begins cutting herself and doing nasty things. Evie moved in with Tracy's family but after a while they decided to get rid of her. Tracy ends up being unpopular again but she became more of a normal pearson. Evie continues being the most popular girl in school.

I think that Tracy becomes rebel and incontrollable because of some problems. Her father is always working we only saw him once in the film. Her mother tries to be good and help Tracy but she is'nt very helpful, and she doesn't pay attention to her daughter. Another problem is that her mother's boyfriend was a drug addict and he goes to live with them. But the main problem is that she wants to be popular and starts going with Evie, taking drugs and doing a lot of bad things. Evie is the worst problem of them all and when she starts to live with Tracy's family, more problems arrsed. I think that Tracy does all of these bad things to liberate her pain and to try to be like Evie, seemingly without problems. The combination of all of these problems makes Tracy becomes an unlikable girl

If we compare the film with Adrian Mole, we see two different lives but with some look alike problems. Adrian's parents are divorced like Tracy's, their lives are difficult and they haven't good very much money. Tracy has a difficult character and she is not happy with her body up to the point that starts cutting herself, and Adrian is happy with his body and he doesn't want to change.

By the fourth game Nadal had federer kicking the clay in fustration.

The drubbing went on from there. Nadal won his fourth consecutive French Open title in a rout Sunday, again spoiling Federer's bid to complete a career Grand Slam.

Nadal swept six consecutive games early in the match and swept the final nine games to win 6-1, 6-3, 6-0.

It was Federer's worst loss in his 173 Grand Slam matches, and the shortest Roland Garros men's final in terms of games since 1977.

So thorough was the thumping that during the trophy ceremony, Nadal was moved to apologize.

"Roger, I'm sorry for the final," Nadal said.

For the No. 2-ranked Nadal, it was merely another in a series of dominating victories. He lost only 41 games in seven rounds.

"I've hoped I could have done better today than four games," Federer said. "But Rafael was very strong this year."

And Nadal became the first man since Borg in 1980 to win the tournament without dropping set.

"He dominated the tournament like never before, like Bjorn," Federer said.

Borg watched the final from the front row. Much of the crowd rooted for Federer, who arrived in Paris for the fourth consecutive year seeking to become the sixth man to win all four major titles. Each time he has lost to Nadal -- in the semifinals in 2005, and in the final each of the past three years.

Fans chanted "Ro-ger! Ro-ger!" between games, but Nadal earned their cheers, too. He won 24 of 27 points to take a 2-0 lead in the second set as a desperate Federer tried everything to reverse the tide.

But when Federer played serve-and-volley on a second serve, Nadal lunged to hit a lob into the corner for a winner. When Federer tried to chip and charge off a return, Nadal passed him with a backhand.

For Federer, the worst came at the end -- a 6-0 set loss. The last time that happened to him was on a slightly smaller stage: the first round in 1999 at Queen's against Byron Black.

On match point, Federer sailed a forehand long, and Nadal raised his arms in triumph.

"To lose the way I did today, it's obviously hard and it's a rough loss, but it's OK," Federer said. "I'll move on from here, and I'll try again next year."

Nadal improved to 9-1 against Federer on clay, with the only loss coming in the 2007 Hamburg final.

'I'm On The Plane!' Phone Calls In Mid Air

The first authorised mobile phone call was made during a comercial flight. Maby the sound of ringtones on aeroplaneswill become a common feature during flights.

Phone calls and texts on flights
A passenger on an Emirates flight between Dubai and Casablanca made the historical call at 30,000 feet.

The airline has said technology made by AeroMobile protects navigation equipment from interference.
Passengers normally have to switch their phones onto "flight safe mode" every time they step onto a plane.
This practice may soon be entirely abandoned as other airlines clamour to test mid-air mobile use.
A spokesperson for British Airways told Sky News Online: "We are looking into the possibility in terms of technology, regulatory practices and whether our customers would want mobile phone use on-board."
One option could be to allow text messages but not voice calls, she added.

Horror Story

THE NASHVILLE KILLER

It all started, a pitch black night and blinding fog in the middle of a Forest .All other nights of the year are all the same, but the night , the thirty first of October, was an exception because every year on this very day awakens a beast so horrible I gives me shivers in my spine thinking of it.

The legend of the people of Nashville, a small town in the middle of nowhere, say that this beast called Mr. Robin comes out of his grave too eat human flesh.
The people of Nashville are very worried because in the past decades the beast only killed and ate until he was full but it seems that every year he gets hungrier and hungrier killing more and more people.

This year the towns people decided to stand guard of the town to defend the children and finally end this horrible dream like situation, but now one wanted to offer, so the town had a vote to see who would protect the town, in the end the mayor was chosen because he was the most selfish and greedy and the most obese man of the town.

The mayor was waiting for the beast to arise at the entrance of the town but nothing, then suddenly he heard a rustle in the bush and there it was the beast called Mr. Robin, he was decomposed and smelt like a bag of dead rats he saw the mayor who was shivering in his boots holding a shotgun and roared. The mayor started shooting but it was no use because he was already dead. Mr. Robin killed the mayor. Some of the town’s people were watching from afar. The beast stayed still for a moment then shouted ‘’ I have had my fill this year’’ and left.

The town’s people were happy but still afraid for next year was a short time away.

Hard Candy (movie)

The film opens with a flirtatious online conversation between a man and a girl, who agree to meet in person for the first time at a cafe. The two are revealed as 14-year old Hayley Stark and 32-year old photographer Jeff Kohlver. After further flirtation, Hayley suggests they return to Jeff's house . Once there, Hayley makes them both screwdrivers, after telling Jeff she doesn't drink unless she can be sure of the contents. As they drink, Hayley suggests that Jeff take some photographs of her, similar to the ones of young girls displayed on the walls of his home. As Jeff returns with his camera and begins taking pictures, he feels disoriented and passes out.

Jeff wakes up tied to a wheeled computer chair. Hayley explains she drugged him, and then accuses him of being a pedophile. As she searches his house, she discovers letters of correspondence between him and a woman named Janelle, who turns out to be Jeff's ex-girlfriend for whom he still has feelings, as well as photos of a sexual nature in a hidden safe in his rock garden. Among them is a picture of another woman, a local girl who had been kidnapped and remains missing. Jeff denies involvement in the womans disappearance before kicking a distracted Hayley to the floor and wheeling himself to his bedroom to get a gun. As he returns, they struggle. He begins to bang her against the wall but Hayley is able to wrap his head in plastic wrap and choke him into unconsiousness

Jeff wakes up tied to a table with a bag of ice on his genitals. Hayley informs Jeff of his impending

castration ,which she says will be a kind of public service. After a long conversation she then begins composing an e-mail to his ex-girlfriend. Despite Jeff's attempts to dissuade her through threats, bargaining, negotiation, and pleas for her sympathy, Hayley apparently proceeds with the operation. Following its conclusion, she steps out of the room, and Jeff breaks free from his bonds, only to discover that the operation was faked. Scalpel in hand, he stalkes Hayley to the bathroom, where he is blindsided from behind by Hayley, who shocks him into unconsciousness with a stun gun.

Hayley begins to type a fake suicide note. Jeff awakens again, this time on a chair with a noose around his neck. Hayley reveals that she has written a fake suicide note on his behalf and has called Janelle , telling her to come to the house. She offers Jeff a choice between killing himself before being outeds as a sexual predator, or living with the shame and legal consequences of his crimes. Their conversation is interrupted when a neighbor knocks on the door. Hayley answers and convinces the neighbor that she is Jeff's niece, and that everything is fine. When Hayley returns, Jeff breaks free from the noose and pursues her to the roof, where she has created another noose, and manages to hold him off using the gun.

As Janelle arrives at the house, he finally confesses to Hayley that he was involved in Donna Mauer's death, but claims that he only watched while another man, who he says was his partner in the crime, actually committed the murder, and offers to tell her his name for sparing himself. Hayley reveals that she already knows his name, and that, "Aaron told me you did it, before he killed himself." Janelle is outside the house now, knocking, and Hayley reminds Jeff that he still has the option of killing himself to avoid prosecution, as well as the shame of Janelle finding out the things he has done. She promises him that if he does this, she will destroy all evidence of his crimes and that nobody but the two of them will ever know. Reluctantly, Jeff doesn't resist when the noose is slid around his neck and walks off the roof, seconds before Hayley says, "Or not". She gathers her belongings and escapes through the woods, walking down a road.
